ROMANIAN and traveller families are being urged to help find a teenage mum and her baby son who have been missing for a month.
Catalina Covaci, aged 15 and her six-month-old son, Ricardo, vanished from Penrith, Cumbria, on Wednesday, December 19.
She is originally from Romania, but has lived in Cumbria for the last 18 months.
CCTV cameras captured her boarding a train to Manchester Piccadilly and she has not been seen since.
She is known to have links to Romanian and traveller families.
Sally Bennett, Catalina and Ricardo’s guardian, said: “It has been a month now Catalina that you and baby Ricardo have been missing. My children and I are missing you both very much. We are all very worried that we have not heard from you.”
Detective Inspector Furzana Nazir, who is leading the search, said: “This is an unusual and concerning investigation due to the fact Catalina and Ricardo are so young and have not been in touch with guardians or friends to say they are safe and well for a month now.
“One avenue we are pursuing is the suggestion she may have been contacting extended family members or acquaintances she has around the country.”
