LIFESAVERS are practising their skills ready for the 120th annual Sheffield and District St John Ambulance first aid competition this weekend.
Saturday’s event is at Lady Mabel Hall, Ecclesfield School, Sheffield, which aims to find the best lifesaving talent.
The competition is free to enter and takes the form of an eight-minute practical exam, in which teams of two adults or three juniors will be given a simulated first aid situation to see how they perform.
They will be judged on how well they deal with any incidents that arise.
Trophies will be awarded to the winners along with prizes of gift vouchers for those in first, second and third place in each category.
Entrants for the event must arrive by 11.30am. For an entry form, call Claire Crump on 0114 272 4388.
