Sheffield Wednesday star Reda Johnson has won the club’s community champion title for his exceptional work with a local special school.
The defender won the award for his outstanding contribution and commitment to the local area – and particularly his work with Norfolk Park special needs school.
Reda backed the school in a bid to raise funds for specialist equipment for the pupils.He also donated £5,000 towards a Magic Carpet for the school – which projects interactive games onto the floor.
Reda said: “Norfolk Park provides amazing support to its children so I wanted to help them raise funds to help them on their way to buying the special learning equipment.”
Spencer Taylor, CSR manager at Sheffield Wednesday, said: “Reda is an excellent ambassador for our community programme and we look forward to even more people benefiting from his commitment.”
