A COMMUNITY group has been launched in a South Yorkshire village to improve the environment and facilities.
More than 60 people attended a public meeting to set up the Millhouse Green Village Association - and a second meeting takes place tomorrow at The Blacksmith’s Arms at 8pm.
Chairwoman Ingrid Law said: “It came out the main concerns were dog fouling, road safety and facilities for young people.
“Some of the issues will take time to resolve, we can’t sort out everything overnight, but others can be fixed quicker and we are already hopeful of getting some funding to start tidying up green spaces in the village.”
The new association already has a committee and a constitution, but Ingrid said it needed support from everyone in Millhouse Green, near Penistone.
She added: “We have organised another meeting so everyone can come along.”
