COLOURFUL celebrations were held by Rotherham’s Chinese community attended by more than 80 people including the town’s mayor.
Mayor Coun Rose McNeely and Coun Mahroof Hussain, were guests at the party, organised by the Wah Hong Chinese Association at Eastwood Methodist Church Hall.
Entertainment was provided by the Sheffield and District Chinese School, who performed a traditional Lion Dance.
There were also performances of Chinese songs and music by young people, plus a tai chi demonstration.
Jo Mailer, chair of the Wah Hong Chinese Association, said: “The event was a great success and brought lots of different people together from the community.”
