GRADUATES will take part in a procession through Barnsley to celebrate their academic achievements.

Students from Barnsley College will be led by a local brass band as they parade from the Old Mill Lane campus to Barnsley Town Hall as part of an annual ceremony on Friday.

The celebration will honour students who have completed higher education courses at the college over the last year.

Engineering student Scott Coggin, aged 22, who will be taking part in the event, said: “I couldn’t do the job I do at Sheffield Forgemasters without college. I’m looking forward to the graduation, I always knew I wanted to work hard and get my qualifications and it’s great to have finally achieved it.”
