Clubbers join Sheffield bands for The Limit reunion - SLIDESHOW
CLUBBERS took a step back in time and mingled with Sheffield bands to dance the night away at the reunion of The Limit.
Members of Pulp, Human League, Vice Versa/ABC, Artery, Stunt Kites, The Extras and The Push as well as Emmerdale star Ray Ashcroft all turned up to honour the unforgettable nightclub.
They helped make up a crowd of more than 700 at the party to officially launch Neil Anderson's book chronicling the history of the popular venue, Take It To The Limit.
DJ Paul Unwin provided the venue's sounds for 10 years from when it first threw open its doors in 1978 and he was persuaded to return to the decks for the one-night-only event.
Iggy Pop, B-52s, Ultravox, Japan, David Bowie and The Waterboys were back on the playlist as the Seventies and Eighties were brought back to life for revellers with treasured memories of The Limit.
Neil Anderson said: "The event was truly awesome - a queue had formed before the doors even opened at 9pm and one couple had travelled all the way from Spain to be there. The place was still full at 3am, nobody wanted to go home.
"But the most popular item of the night turned out to be The Limit T-shirts we had specially made for the bar staff with the venue's original logo. Many of them ended up selling them at the end of the night - one member of staff got 100 for hers."
The reunion took place at Wellington Street's Casbah, formerly the Wapentake Bar where most Limit staff started originally.
