More than 250 climbers are expected to descend on Sheffield this weekend when a global event returns to the city.
The Climbing Works International Festival, one of the biggest climbing competitions in the UK, will take place at the bouldering wall in Woodseats this Saturday and Sunday.
Some of the world’s top climbers, as well as climbing talent from Sheffield, have entered the bouldering competition.
The qualifying rounds will take place on Saturday, with the semi-finals and finals on Sunday.
Footage of Sunday’s climbing will be streamed live on the internet at www.thecwif.com
Funds will be raised for Climbers Against Cancer and the British Heart Foundation, and organisers say there will be plenty of freebies from sponsors Adidas, Berghaus and Scarpa.
There are individual and team events and a prize fund of £5,000.
Entries are still being taken and those interested in taking part can enter online.
The venue is closed to the public for climbing on Saturday, but all are welcome to go along and watch the action.
