Mountain rescue team volunteers helped a climber who fell in the Peak District– suffering multiple fractures to both her legs and suspected pelvis and spinal injuries.

The 45-year-old, from York, was climbing on Millstone Edge, above Hathersage, when she fell on Saturday.

She was carried on a stretcher to an air ambulance and flown to Sheffield’s Northern General Hospital.

The mountain rescue team was called out to help a paraglider who crashed on Bradwell Edge on the same day.

He was flown to hospital with a broken leg.
