A LAWYER from Mexborough took the plunge to raise £1,300 for South Yorkshire’s main cancer hospital.

Claire Pendlebury, who works for Attey’s in Wath, took part in a sponsored parachute jump to raise money for Weston Park Hospital, where her dad George Pendlebury, also from Mexborough, was treated for the illness.

She finally managed the 15,000 feet jump from a plane after her skydive was postponed twice due to bad weather.

She said: “I was petrified but it was an absolutely amazing experience.”
