Targets to be achieved by 2020:
Increase the Sheffield worker's average salary from 22,500 to 25,000
Create 30,000 new jobs and get 16,000 of the city's 83,000 jobless into them
Increase by 1 billion Gross Value Added - the difference between the value of goods and services the city produces, and the cost of producing them.
Planned innovations
A city events programme building on headline events and developing an "early evening economy" to keep people in the city from 5pm to 8pm
A New Business District around The Moor, providing a base for companies coming to, and expanding in, Sheffield
A Sheffield "brand" to be used across the city and replace the plethora of confusing logos
A Local Investment Fund, to assemble development sites and get them ready for development
A radical "Internship Programme", placing thrusting undergraduate students and recent graduates with local employers
A world-class Business School to help bosses make their small and medium-sized businesses the best in their field
An initiative to cut the amount of business going outside Sheffield by encouraging the use of local suppliers
Improving collaboration between centres within the region, and with Manchester and Leeds, to create a regional economy to rival London.
