MORE than 100 youngsters including Sheffield teenagers who have taken part in the Government’s National Citizen Service scheme were invited to a national celebration at the O2 in London.

Sheffield youngsters had completed a course held by Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday football clubs, featuring team-building activities and challenges, including raft building, taking part in an assault course and a high-wire course.

Sky Sports presenter Millie Clode attended the event to show her support. She said: “National Citizen Service gives young people the opportunity to develop skills above and beyond the classroom - teamwork, leadership, adventure. I would encourage anyone who missed out this summer to get involved during half-term.”
