City race hits new record

Have your say

MORE than 3,000 people have already entered this year’s Sheffield Half Marathon - a new record.

The race, celebrating its 30th year, has reached the milestone with entries up by more than 1,000 from the same time last year and looks certain to reach its entry limit of 5,500 by the end of February.

Ian Thomas, entries co-ordinator, said: “We are delighted with the amount of entries we have had so far. It’s fantastic that the support and demand for one of the city’s oldest road races still exists. I would encourage people who are thinking of signing up to do so now to avoid disappointment.”

The Half Marathon and 3k Fun Run will take place on May 8 at Sheffield International Venues managed facility Don Valley Stadium from 9.30am. Log on to to enter.
