City MP to help local charities

Have your say

SHEFFIELD MP Angela Smith is working with charities to help rural movers and shakers influence issues being debated on the national stage.

Ms Smith, who represents Penistone and Stocksbridge, is working with the MP for Calder Valley, Craig Whitaker, by attending events hosted by the Yorkshire and Humber Rural Network and the Houses of Parliament Outreach Service.

The events will look at current legislation that has had an impact on local government and rural areas, and how to influence legislation effectively and get views heard within Parliament.

The MPs will also be speaking about their first-hand experiences about raising local Government issues in Parliament.
