SHEFFIELD motorists have admitted to being some of the worst in the country, according to a new survey.
The city came 25th in a poll of drivers in 28 places in the UK in terms of ‘respect’ on the roads.
Only a quarter of people surveyed in Sheffield said they have never driven over the speed limit, with 12 per cent admitting to driving faster in between speed cameras.
Another 12 per cent admitted they went through traffic lights at red or amber, six per cent were happy to use their mobile phone while driving and almost a quarter eat and drink at the wheel.
AXA, which carried out the survey, is appealing for the public to nominate bad drivers they know for a road safety ‘boot camp.’ at an advanced motoring school.
