Retailers in Sheffield city centre are urged to have their say on plans for a business improvement district.

The second consultation on the BID project takes place in John Lewis at Barkers Pool, in the A Place to Eat cafe, from 4pm to 6pm on Tuesday.

If approved later this year, the scheme would work by pooling money paid by businesses and using it towards improvements such as parking measures or championing independent businesses.

BID champion Sandra Barley, also retail liaison manager for The Moor, said: “This is the window of opportunity for businesses to air their views and to provide constructive ideas.

“Initial research has identified the areas most important to those who run retail outlets, but we want to expand on this.”
