Circus facing boycott call

ANIMAL rights group, the Captive Animals' Protection Society is calling on the public to boycott an animal circus that is performing in Dronfield this week.

Circus Mondao is one of just nine circuses still to use animals, touring with zebras, horses, goats, llamas, camels and dogs. The circus is at Dronfield Showround at Bowshaw Roundabout until Sunday.

Animal circuses have become increasingly unpopular due to increasing and concern about animals being transported from site to site, kept in temporary accommodation, and made to perform in the circus ring.

CAPS is urging the Government to end the use of animals in circuses.
