Have your say

DO YOU need a hand with your luggage, sir?

When circus folk are in town, there’s no telling what they might bring along in their suitcase.

Take Fips the clown from Zippo’s Circus.

Goodness knows what he had in his holdall when he arrived on the train at Sheffield station.

Fips, who is renowned for producing cream pies from his case before squishing them into faces, rolled up with a couple of very special sisters – who promptly rolled up into very small balls.

Contortionists the Ulaan sisters, from Mongolia, are one of Zippo’s best loved acts.

And no wonder.

These girls will literally bend over backwards to keep spectators entertained.

But it is hard work travelling, especially when – like Fips – you take size 39 shoes.

So when he saw the water feature outside the station, he took the opportunity to whip off his clown shoes and soak his tootsies, much to bewildered travellers’ amusement.

Audiences can catch up with the madcap antics of the circus folk at Endcliffe Park, from today until next Tuesday, when there is lots of family fun to be had from the four corners of the world.

Zulu warriors from Kenya, juggler Antoine Micheletty from France and Russian flying man Mischa join Ji-Qui Fang from China, who specialises in catching heavy pots on his head.
