CHURCHES are opening their doors for carol and Christingle services.
St Mary’s in Wombwell and St George’s in Jump, Barnsley, are preparing for one of their busiest times of the year.
On Sunday, December 23, at 3pm St Mary’s host a carol service followed by mince pies and mulled wine. St George’s carol service is at 5pm.
On Christmas Eve St Mary’s Christingle Service will include instructions on the making and meaning of the Christingle.
There will also be a Holy Communion Service on Christmas Day at 10am and the same service at St George’s at 5pm.
Rector of St Mary’s, Revd Nigel Elliott, said: “We are very much looking forward to welcoming young and old at our services over Christmas.”
