REPRESENTATIVES of churches across Sheffield diocese are getting together for a summit to discuss their involvement in society.
The event has been organised after a call by Bishop of Sheffield, Dr Steven Croft, for a ‘diocesan-wide conversation’ to discuss how to implement a church policy to create “Christian communities effective in transforming our society and God’s world”.
The summit is on Saturday at St Thomas Church, Philadelphia, Sheffield. Archdeacon of Sheffield and Rotherham, Martyn Snow, has asked Parochial Church Councils to consider questions relating to their involvement in society and ways the diocese can support them.
Mr Snow said: “I’m looking forward to the opportunity to hear from people in diverse situations across the diocese.”
