Church's choral aid for hospice
CHORISTERS across Sheffield sang their hearts out in a series of concerts organised to raise money for the Bluebell Wood Hospice.
The Seventh Day Adventist Church - which has churches in Carterknowle, Burngreave and Manor - hosted two concerts over the summer, raising a total of 935 for the charity. Members of the choirs performed together with guest artists, and visitors were invited to make a donation to the cause.
Pastor Andrew Rashford-Hewitt said: “Seeing the work that they are doing trying to provide support for parents and children who are terminally ill, we were moved and wanted to help as much as we could.”
The money was presented in a ceremony at the hospice in Dinnington which will care for poorly children from across South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire.
