SHEFFIELD residents are being reminded where they can go to recycle their trees once the 12 days of Christmas are over.

Six drop-off points are being organised and people can also take their unwanted trees to household waste recycling centres.

Households can still have trees collected but a charge of £18 applies, which includes up to three items.

A Veolia spokeswoman said: “Real Christmas trees can be taken to recycle centres in Shirecliffe, Woodhouse, Gleadless, Deepcar and High Green.

“Alternatively, there are six drop-off points real Christmas trees can be taken to until Saturday, January 12.”

Drop-off points are: High Riggs Nursery and Garden Centre, Riggs High Road, Stannington; Devonshire Green, city centre; Heeley City Farm, Richards Road, Heeley; Frecheville Community Centre, Churchdale Road, Frecheville; and Dobcroft Junior School, Pingle Road, Millhouses.
