A CHARITABLE group is aiming to make Christmas a little brighter for homeless and vulnerable people in Sheffield.
Volunteer-run Homeless and Rootless at Christmas will be providing shelter, meals and clothing to members of society most in need at the Archer Project in Sheffield Cathedral during the festive period.
The doors will open at 9.30am on December 23 before the project closes on January 1 next year.
Rachel Newman, of HARC Sheffield, said: “Last year, over a 10 day period, we provided 2,185 meals and other comforts such as hairdressing, chiropody, clothing and much needed treats and entertainment were on offer.
Over 1,200 guest visits were recorded and 250 volunteers gave up their time to help. With increasing austerity, we expect Christmas to be an even bigger affair this year.”
