Santa brought some extra special gifts to six Sheffield families this Christmas.
Excited mums, dads, siblings and grandparents welcomed these adorable new arrivals on Christmas Day at the Jessop Wing in the Jessop Hospital for Women.
Among them was Beverley Wilson, aged 36, of Handsworth, who had baby Kasper just before 6am.
Beverley, who was supported by husband Mark, aged 37, said: “We came to Jessops, rang my mum and then I needed to push while we were in the car park!
“The midwives came out to fetch me and I had him inside just before 6am.”
Kasper, who weighed 7lb 5oz, was due to go home on Christmas Day afternoon to meet his big siblings AJ, aged 12, and Scarlett, aged nine.
Olivia Noble, aged 26, and Dave Nixon, aged 29, who live in Mosborough, had their first baby, Woody, at 10.11am.
Olivia said: “This was his due date so I didn’t expect him to come on Christmas Day as we were told that only five per cent of babies come on their due date.
“It’s a very nice present for Christmas.”
A very excited dad, Patrick Callingham, aged 44, joined his wife Liz, 38, at Jessops to welcome their second son, Toby George, at 6.18am. He weighed a staggering 9lb 4oz.
Patrick, of Walkley, said: “It’s very exciting. We had our Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve but we’re hoping we will get sent home so Toby can meet his older brother, William, who is two.”
Meanwhile, Nickie Turton, 38, and Simon Beal, 37, of High Green, had a baby boy at 6.44am weighing 6lb 10oz.
Nickie said: “We haven’t decided on a name yet. He has a big brother, Dillan, who is three and is on his way to meet us now. He is so excited.
“The atmosphere in the maternity ward today is very festive and lovely.”
Rebecca Broadhurst had to wait for her son, Alfie Joe, to arrive - he was actually due on December 19 but decided to be fashionably late.
Rebecca, aged 25, of Worsbrough Bridge, who was joined by partner, Dale Norie, 36, and their daughter, Emily Jayne, aged four, said: “It’s a nice little Christmas present for us.”
Finally, Samika Medjekane, aged 38, and Alejandro Barba, aged 34, of Devonshire Green, welcomed baby Kiara at 3.37am.
Samika said: “I’ve had a fantastic experience here today.”
She added: “Everyone I have seen - the midwives, the doctors and all the other staff - have been fantastic.”
