Money raised at church Christingle services in South Yorkshire will help victims of sexual exploitation.

The services, held throughout December, raise money for The Children’s Society.

This year the charity is aiming to raise £1.4 million.

Rob Jackson, from The Children’s Society, said: “We are thankful for the massive difference that Christingle services make to vulnerable children, year after year.

“Every child deserves a childhood filled with joy and happiness.

“The support from everyone attending Christingle events will help us to fight child sexual exploitation and allow us to support even more children who have been seriously affected by it.”

Services will be held at St Mary the Virgin Church, Ecclesfield, Sheffield, at 4.45pm on Sunday, December 20; St Nicholas’ Church, High Bradfield, near Sheffield, at 4pm on Thursday, December 24 and

Victoria Stafford Road Methodist Church, Stafford Road, Norfolk Park, Sheffield, at 4pm on Thursday, December 24.
