CHARITY chiefs have thanked choirs for singing their hearts out to raise over £1,000.
Heart Research UK praised members of eight choirs who sang over the course of three days in and around Sheffield as part of the charity’s annual festive fundraiser ‘Sing for your Heart’.
Groups performed at Sheffield railway station and Meadowhall, entertaining crowds with a melody of festive tunes, while collecting donations from passers-by.
Out of all cities taking part in ‘Sing for your Heart’ Sheffield had the highest number choirs performing.
Barbara Harpham, national director of Heart Research UK, said: “All the choirs did a fabulous job bringing Christmas cheer to the people of Sheffield.
“Without fundraisers like them, Heart Research UK would not be able to continue helping people live healthier, happier, longer lives.”
