Children's lantern parade lights up estate streets
A PROCESSION of eerie-looking lanterns bobbed its way through Sheffield's Manor estate when a festive parade took to the streets.
Children from St Theresa's School and the Manor After School Kids Club walked along Prince of Wales Road with their handmade creations.
The procession ended at Manor Top Library where there was Santa's grotto, craft activities, refreshments and a prize draw for a Christmas hamper.
Coun Bob McCann, Sheffield Council cabinet member for housing and sustainable, safer communities, said: "I'm sure the children in particular will really enjoy the festivities but it's also a great chance for everyone to find out what is happening in their area and the services available for them."
The event was organised by the council regeneration team, Manor and Castle Development Trust and Sheffield Homes.
