More seats and more web surfing is on offer to users of a popular Chesterfield bus service after Stagecoach announced improvements to the route’s offerings.
The 54 service from Chesterfield to Clay Cross will have its single deckers replaced with double decker vehicles.
The new bigger buses will mean more seats available and will also allow customers to use free wi-fi to surf the web on their way to work.
The changes follow the launch of a fleet of ‘Stagecoach Gold’ buses which feature hand-stitched leather seats and free wi-fi on Stagecoach route X17 in South Yorkshire and Derbyshire as part of a £1.2 million investment.
Paul Lynch, managing director at Stagecoach Yorkshire said: “These developments are all part of a continued investment programme by Stagecoach in Chesterfield and reflect the popularity of the 54 route and customer demand on it.
“We know from the passenger surveys we conduct that being able to access free wifi makes a noticeable difference to their travel.”
