A ROTHERHAM organisation which provides emergency food and support for those in crisis has been awarded a £6,000 NatWest CommunityForce award.
Rotherham Foodbank, the first of its kind in South Yorkshire, was allocated the cash thanks to an enthusiastic voting campaign by local residents. The Foodbank works with a number of local frontline services, and provides three days of balanced nutritional food in exchange for a foodbank voucher.
Danny Miller, of Rotherham Foodbank, said: “ We’re finding more and more local families having to make decisions to either pay the rent or mortgage, or put food on the table.
“Foodbank exists to help struggling families. I’m delighted with the award.”
