STAFF and members of a Rossington club who took part in a charity walk made sure they were well refreshed by the time they reached the end.

After setting off from Rossington Labour Club they stopped at almost every pub and club on their route to Doncaster Mansion House.

The walkers who took part think they have raised about £500.

The money will be shared between potwasher Luke Woodward and Trevor Shaw, whose wife works at the club, who are both being treated for cancer.

Organiser Ian Johnson, relief steward at the Labour Club, said: “We stopped for a drink and a photo at the Styrrup, Hare and Tortoise, Punch’s, the Comrades Club and St Leger before we got to the Mansion House about 4.30pm.

“Everyone enjoyed it and nobody complained of blisters or sore muscles, they just felt a bit tired.

“It was fabulous and we raised more than expected.”
