Charity to benefit from 10-mile Derbyshire challenge

Thousands of pounds are to be raised for charity this weekend as the annual Derwent Dambuster Charity Challenge Race takes place.

Saturday’s event is a 10 mile run/challenge walk through the Derwent Valley, starting from the Fairholmes Visitor Centre.

Money is being raised to support Challenge Cancer Through Adventure, with more than £3,800 collected last year.

More than 200 people have signed up for this year’s event.

Tomorrow’s challenge walk starts at 9am, with the fun run and trail race getting under way at 10.30am.

Places to take part in this year’s event have all been taken.
