charity shop First In Best Dressed has raised £2,500 for local charity The Cathedral Archer Project.

The shop, created by The Source Skills Academy and based on Cambridge Street, launched as a new charity shop in September 2011, developing apprentices by giving them practical experience of running a business as well as raising money for local charities.

A number of charities are each gaining a share of the shop’s profits for three months.

The Cathedral Archer Project was the third organisation to benefit.

First In Best Dressed’s store manager David Webber presented a cheque for £2,500 to Archer Project representatives Tracy Viner, marketing and development manager, Sharon Collins, a project worker, and volunteer Steve Hayter.

David Webber said: “The Cathedral Archer Project is a fantastic organisation, working hard to support the homeless in Sheffield. Their work is an inspiration to us all and we are proud to donate this cheque to this hands-on charity that puts the community first.”

Ann Cadman, managing director at The Source said: “Since opening in September 2011, First In Best Dressed has been a fantastic success. The Sheffield community has been really generous with making donations and we would like the next charity’s cheque to be even bigger, so please keep donating.”
