SHEFFIELD’S branch of the RSPCA is to open two new shops in Hillsborough and Woodseats – but staff need help to do it.

The charity needs 1,000 bags of good quality clothes, bric-a-brac, gifts, games and other goodies to fill the shops which will raise money for the city’s abandoned and mistreated animals.

Stock can be left at the RSPCA’s shop in Crookes, which is open Monday to Saturday 10am to 4pm, or dropped off at reception of the RSPCA Animal Centre, on Stadium Way, Attercliffe.

Staff can also arrange home collection for lots of items.

The new shops – in Hillsborough Barracks and on Chesterfield Road, Woodseats – are due to open within the next three months.

RSPCA manager Stella White said they can’t accept toys without a CE label, furniture other than very small items, infant goods such as prams and pushchairs, or safety equipment such as cycle helmets. Broken or chipped items are no use, as they can’t be sold and it costs the charity money to dispose of them.
