The search is on to crown a Carnival Queen, Princesses and Rosebuds – ahead of Chesterfield’s fundraising marathon later this year.
National charity ‘Kids n Cancer’ has launched a campaign to seek out locals worthy of the regal titles.
Andrea Hooley, the charity’s events manager, asked: “Do you know somebody who has done something a little bit special or who’s gone the extra mile for a good cause?
“We’re encouraging people to nominate friends, family or themselves for the Carnival Queen, Princess and Rosebud titles.
“Our aim is to put on a fun packed day of games, stalls and music for all the family on the day of the charity fundraising marathon. The Carnival Crowns, which will be announced on Sunday, July 20, will be invited along to the day to add a bit of Royal glitterati to the proceedings!”
The charity is seeking one Queen, two loyal Princesses aged eight to 17, and four little Rosebuds - aged under eight - to fill the roles.
The marathon, on Sunday September 14, is expected to attract 3,000 runners and thousands more spectators to the town.
