Charity hosts football event
A SOUTH Yorkshire football charity is holding a fundraising evening to support a soccer project aimed at bringing peace to troubled parts of Africa.
Desbon Bushiri, who works for the Sharrow-based charity Football Unites, Racism Divides, has launched the Football Between Communities project to teach the sport to children and young adults in the African state of Congo.
Tomorrow FURD will promote the project at an event at Sheffield United's Tunnel Bar, in the John Street stand of the Bramall Lane stadium.
The event, at 8pm, will feature music, as well as an auction of items donated by the Arctic Monkey, Richard Hawley and Reverend and the Makers.
See tomorrow's Star for a feature on Desbon's project and his own amazing story.
