PEOPLE in South Yorkshire are being asked to turn unwanted clothes into cash to help people whose lives have been torn apart by the civil war in Syria.
The British Red Cross has launched Shop Drop for Syria and is urging people to make donations to its shops around South Yorkshire.
Mark Astarita, charity director of fundraising, said: “We understand that during these tough economic times, not everyone has spare cash to give. That is why the Red Cross has launched ‘Shop Drop for Syria’ as it offers our supporters another way to make a difference to the millions of people affected.
“Drop off a bag of good quality unwanted items at your local Red Cross shop and help us raise much-needed funds.”
