LIVE music, stalls and entertainment at a Sheffield pub helped to raise more than £1,000 for wounded troops’ charity Help for Heroes.
The Strad, at Stradbroke, held a family fun day called Soldier On in support of the appeal.
Kerry Wagstaff, of The Strad, said: “We had live music from bands and solo acoustic guitarists, all of whom were local.
“Performers included Last Act, Fear of Sharks and Durban, plus soloists James Frank, Ben Ibbotson, Sean Edge and Rob Lee.
“There were also children from the S13 Does Broadway dance group who were on stage.”
Kerry said the pub had promoted the event by distributing 2,500 posters around the area – and hundreds of residents came along.
As well as the music and bouncy castle, there were stalls, raffles and a hog roast.
Kerry said: “We raised a total of £1,000, which also included money from sale of Help for Heroes wristbands, which was a great result.”
The event was also sponsored by Champion Hire, GHS Scaffolding, Bouncy Around Sheffield and Freeman’s Waste.
