Bright yellow bikes and flags will mark the Tour de France route in Sheffield - but you can help choose where they go.

Sheffield Council has announced that 40 yellow recycled bikes and eye-catching flags are being made available to display on the route as today marks 40 days until the Tour arrives on July 6.

People are invited to come forward with the most visible and creative locations for the props.

The bikes have been provided by Recycle Bikes at Heeley Development Trust who also run bike maintenance and loan programmes as part of the Sheffield Cycleboost initiative.

Both the bikes and flags are free and people just need to say why they should have one for display - whether its in a home, school, shop window or the front of a business.

To stake your interest contact Marketing Sheffield by emailing kate.reveley@sheffield.gov.uk or call 0114 22 32 359.
