A TEAM of 300 officers has started knocking on doors in Sheffield to chase up uncompleted census forms.
Around 72 per cent of households in Yorkshire have already returned their census questionnaires.
Completing the survey is a legal requirement and people who do not face a hefty £1,000 fine.
All census staff wear photo identification badges and carry other visibly branded items. Collectors will never ask anyone for bank account details.
If residents are unsure about the identity of anyone claiming to be from the census, they should ask to see ID. Anyone with concerns should call the census helpline on 0300 020 1101.
