BUILDING bridges between generations will be brought into focus as Sheffield celebrates its older population.
The city’s Older People’s Partnership Network has joined forces with other agencies for Celebrating Age, a talent showcase for residents aged 50 and over.
The event, which takes place on Monday October 1 at the Crucible Theatre, coincides with the International Day of Older Persons.
Organisers say the aim of the day will be to promote a positive image of older people, break down barriers to isolation and engage with younger people, to encourage interaction between old and young.
Jane Tanser, project co-ordinator, said: “Our celebration is being run under the banner of Celebrating Age to applaud the contribution of older people.”
