Community volunteers in Derbyshire who have completed specialist training to work with children are to be congratulated by a leading politician.
More than 50 volunteers who have successfully finished the Derbyshire Volunteer Passport Scheme are to attend a celebration at County Hall, Matlock, tomorrow.
Nick Hurd MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Charities, Social Enterprise and Volunteering will talk to volunteers who have completed the passport scheme.
The scheme was developed to give volunteers skills needed to work with youngsters. They are offered training sessions covering first aid, health and safety, keeping children safe, equal opportunities, and consulting with young people.
