Celebrating Fairtrade

Sheffield is getting behind Fairtrade Fortnight by organising a series of events around the city designed to showcase the range of produce available and encourage more people to buy Fairtrade.

The first event will take place in the Winter Garden on Thursday, March 7, with a display of artwork - some painted in coffee - produced by craftspeople in Dore on the theme of Fairtrade.

The Lord Mayor of Sheffield will attend at 10am and talk to some of the artists, and in the afternoon a Strictly Come Baking event will allow shoppers to taste samples of Fairtrade cakes.
