Celebrating city's unsung heroes - SLIDESHOW
CELEBRITY guests mingled with some of Sheffield's unsung heroes and heroines when they were recognised at Sheffield's annual Night of Honour Awards.
The glittering ceremony, held at Ponds Forge last night, was attended by Coronation Street star Jennie McAlpine, who plays factory worker Fizz, Sheffield Utd manager Bryan Robson, Owls boss Brian Laws and retired footballer Carlton Palmer.
More than 1,500 city dignitaries, workers, business people, teachers, carers and members of the public were invited to the ceremony.

Ten awards were presented to a range of individuals and organisations.
Organiser Louise Davies said all the participants were worthy winners.
But those who stood out included 12-year-old James Round from Hallowmoor Road, Malin Bridge, who was named as Child of the Year.
James, from Wisewood School, suffers with learning and emotional difficulties but decided to organise a sponsored walk around Hillsborough Park after he discovered children could die from cancer.
He raised 400 after enlisting the help of local businesses and Sheffield Wednesday FC.
Liz Hoyle, from Samuel Road, Arbourthorne, was named Carer of the Year after she was nominated by 10-year-old Joyce Steer, who has Down's Syndrome.
Liz has dedicated herself to looking after hundreds of children, many of whom have Down's Syndrome, to give their parents respite from caring for them.
And Community Organisation of the Year was The Cathedral Archer Project which provides healthcare, laundry services and food to Sheffield's homeless.
The Lifetime Achievement Award went to Tin Sang Wong, described by the judges as a "hero".
Mr Wong founded Sheffield and District Chinese Association in 1983 and has spent years devoting his life to Sheffield's Chinese community.
The event is organised by Hope City Enterprise, the charity which runs the Megacentre, on Bernard Road.
Louise said: "Sheffield's Night of Honour is an incredible event. Instead of rewarding celebrity we honour the ordinary people in Sheffield who live extraordinary lives."
Other winners were: Best Rising Star - Guarbambee Winn; Best Schools Worker - Yvette Hawksworth; Best Queen/King of Customer Care - Stacie Topham; Best Investor in Children - Sally Tomlinson; Best Secret Angel - Dave Parkin; Best Sports Star - Tom Squires.
