Detectives investigating an assault on a female tram conductor in Sheffield have released this image of a woman they want to speak with.

The conductor was collecting fares on the city 26 yellow tram, between Meadowhall and Middlewood, when she was assaulted by a female passenger at around 3.45pm on Friday, August 2.

Her injuries are thought to have been minor.

South Yorkshire Police released a CCTV image in a bid to trace a woman who was travelling on the tram at the same time.

A police spokesman said: “Despite numerous enquiries, police have so far failed to trace the suspect, and have decided to release a CCTV still of a woman who was travelling on the tram and who may have important information about this incident. “

The woman pictured in the CCTV image, or anyone who may know her, is asked to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting crime reference number K/73118/13. Alternatively, people can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
