A cat has died after it was shot with an air weapon in a village on the border of Sheffield.

A cat has died after it was shot with an air weapon in a village on the border of Sheffield.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the shocking incident in Slaley Lane, Clowne, Derbyshire, at around 4.25pm on Thursday, November 20.

They believe the animal was shot with an air rifle and it has since died.

Officers are looking to trace a man who was seen in the area at the time.

He is white, around 6ft tall and of big build. He wore camouflage clothing and spoke with a deep voice. Call PC Jason Graham on 101 quoting crime number 49634/14.
