Mining communities are being urged to apply to a fund set up to award cash grants for projects to help improve areas.
The Coalfields Regeneration Trust has £1.25 million to share between good causes throughout the coalfields of England.
So £644,506 has been spent on around 80 schemes.
Recognising that the grants programme has attracted greater interest than ever before, the Coalfields Regeneration Trust has added a further £250,000 to the funds, to extend the campaign and provide essential investment for more community organisations, which in many instances are a lifeline to local residents.
