MORE than £55,000 has been shared between community groups and projects across South Yorkshire and Chesterfield thanks to the Co-op.
The Co-op’s Community Fund is created by members of The Co-operative Group who elect to donate all, or part, of their twice-yearly dividend payments to the scheme.
The funds are then shared with local groups and projects across the country.
Local groups that have benefited this year include the Stocksbridge Community Care Group which got £2,000, Hillsborough and Owlerton Neighbourhood Forum which got £2,000 and Little Fishes Pre-School, in Rotherham, who received £500.
Doncaster-based Dynamite Kids group got £2,000 to fund their twice-yearly holiday club and a Halloween night.
