Firefighters called to two car fires in Sheffield overnight found that the vehicles had been deliberately set alight.

A crew from Elm Lane station were called to a car park on Barnsley Road, Sheffield Lane Top, just after 11pm last night.

A Vauxhall Astra was discovered well alight.

Firefighters from Rivelin station were called to a vehicle blaze on Fox Hill Way, Birley Edge at 2.20am this morning.

A Nissan Micra had been torched by arsonists.
