CARING youngsters have been collecting food for homeless people in Sheffield.
Cubs from the 59th Sheffield Scouts gathered supplies as part of their Harvest Festival celebrations at St Augustine’s Church, Brocco Bank.
The children met workers from Roundabout and Nomad – which both work with the city’s homeless – to find out more about the issue,.
Each cub was asked to donate one food item and bring another from a friend or family member.
Cub scout leader Abbi Cox said: “I am so proud of the efforts the cubs have made to collect food for the Archer project. Three kids took the initiative to write to everyone on their street asking them each to donate one item and ask a friend to donate one item too.
“As a result we have managed to collect eight crates of food to be donated to the project and truly kept the Cub Scout Law.”
