A CARE home in Sheffield is opening its doors to carers who look after loved ones or friends with dementia.
Park View Care Home, Shiregreen, is setting up a ‘dementia café’ on Monday, May 21, where carers can drop in for a chat and a cuppa between 11am and 1pm.
It is aimed at giving carers the chance to talk to others in the same situation.
Staff at the home who specialise in caring for people with dementia will also be on hand to talk to.
Donna Ashton, the home manager, said: “The work of people who care for loved ones can often go unseen and carers can feel very isolated - and at times exhausted.
“Our team will be on and to offer advice and carers will have the chance to connect with people who they can share their experiences with.
“There are so many people in our community who are living with dementia.
“We want to give their carers the chance to experience a well-deserved break and show them they are not alone,” she said.
